Today is Öskudagur here in Iceland, or Ash Wednesday. It is a day when children dress up in costumes and go door to door singing for and recieving candy.
Here in Súðavík the children at the school and play school have a big party in the sports hall, where music is played and prizes are given out for best costume, best dance etc. They also take turns hitting a type of piniada which when broke is full of candy.

Midge will be there dressed as a fox (like in the photo), and secretling hoping to win the best dancer contest!
